HUGIN EXPERT A/S was established in 1989 and is located in Aalborg, Denmark. The company developed out of a research project that used knowledge based system techniques to help diagnose muscle and nerve diseases. After its conclusion, project members founded  HUGIN EXPERT and began commercializing the HUGIN tool. Today, HUGIN EXPERT A/S has grown to become the premium provider of decision support solutions utilizing Bayesian Network technology.

HUGIN EXPERT’s main business is to provide its customers with tools that can add intelligence to their products and services. The HUGIN system has been adopted by leading R&D departments in 25 different countries, and is used in areas such as decision analysis, decision support, prediction, diagnosis, health monitoring, troubleshooting, risk management and safety assessment.
