HUGIN EXPERT A/S has existed since 1989 and is the leading provider of software for advanced decision support based on complex statistical models, Bayesian Networks (BN). For more than two decades we have developed tools and software utilizing BN-technology, and our software products are used in decision support, medical diagnostics, troubleshooting, risk analysis and safety assessment. HUGIN software employs the most exact and efficient algorithm for updating probabilities. The algorithm was developed by the group behind HUGIN EXPERT based on the article published by Steffen L. Lauritzen of Aalborg (now Oxford) and David Spiegelhalter of Cambridge in the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society in 1988. In 1989 this article won the ”Outstanding Application Award” from the American Statistical Association.
