June 22, 2001: New Release HUGIN 5.7

The new release of our graphical user interface is v5.7 and the HUGIN Decision Engine is v5.2.

Friday, June 22, 2001, we released new versions of all HUGIN Bayesian network development packages. The new release of the Hugin GUI is v5.7 and the Hugin Decision Engine is v5.2. The main features in this release are: learning the graphical structure of a Bayesian network from data, simulation in a Bayesian network when the set of nodes with evidence forms an ancestral set of instantiated nodes, and extension of the functionality of the table generator

– The PC algorithm for learning the graphical structure of a Bayesian network from a database of cases is now part of the Hugin Decision Engine. The Hugin GUI also includes algorithms for layout of the learned graphical structure.

– Simulation in uncompiled Bayesian networks is now permitted when the set of nodes with evidence form an ancestral set of instantiated nodes.

– The Table Generator has been extended with new functionality. The log2, sin, cos, tan, cosh, sinh, tanh functions and the Negative Binomial distribution have been added to the Table Generator.

– The Hugin GUI supports the use of zoom factors in both the Hugin Network language and Hugin Knowledge base file formats.
